The correct way to install the front and back of an oil seal.

An oil seal is the customary name for a general seal, which is simply a seal for lubricating oil. The oil seal is a very narrow sealing contact surface with its lip, and the rotating shaft with a certain pressure contact, then the correct installation method of the positive and negative side of the oil seal is how?

I. Correct installation method of oil seal

1、Set the sponge sheath on both ends of the split, and evenly apply about 0.5mm of grease around the inner circumference.
2、Break open the oil seal from the split and set it on the rotating shaft, remove the sponge sheath and apply DSF special adhesive evenly on the section below the split of the oil seal.
3. Dock the split surface, press moderately and hold for 10-20 seconds until the split is firmly bonded. The key to bonding: while pressing the split surface in opposite directions, pull with appropriate force towards the operator’s chest.
4、Tighten the spring butt and move it into the open spring groove of the oil seal.
5、Rotate the split to the upper part of the shaft and tap the oil seal into the mounting hole evenly to complete the installation. Note: The oil seal positioning step must be close to the equipment end face to ensure the verticality and concentricity of the oil seal and the shaft.
6、When installing the oil seal, please use special reflecting tools to avoid tilting the oil seal.

Ⅱ. Precautions for mounting the oil seal on the front and back side

Please make sure that the residual glue, oil, rust and burrs on the installation hole and the end face of the oil seal are cleaned. The installation direction of the oil seal: the crown part of the oil seal (spring groove side) should face the sealing chamber, do not install the seal in the opposite direction. When installing the oil seal, ensure that the cutout is above the bearing. The roughness of the shaft surface where the seal lip is located must be less than or equal to 1.6μm.
